Why did you create Tizmos?
Like most people, we have a handful of sites we check every time we get on the internet.
Checking these sites usually involved navigating to the sites manually or going
through the browser's bookmarks/favorites menu. The problem with the latter approach
is that you can't access these favorites on different computers unless you install
some sort of plugin. With Tizmos, you can open your browser on any computer, go
to Tizmos.com and see the sites you usually check and get to them
easily. To get started using Tizmos, create an account.
What is a Tizmo?
A Tizmo is a website added to your Tizmos personalized homepage. Tizmos can be dragged and
dropped, edited, and deleted. The screenshot below shows a sample Tizmos.com personalized homepage:
Is Tizmos free?
Tizmos is 100% free, tell your friends!. If you would like to contribute to Tizmos, you can use the button below
to donate using Paypal (or any major credit card). Donations help us keep Tizmos free for everyone.
How do I add a website to my homepage?
To add a site, click the Add Site link on your homepage. You'll
see a form similar to the one below, just enter the website URL and some tags to describe the website, then hit the add button.
Can I categorize the websites on my page?
You can tag each individual Tizmo on your page. When you add a website, you'll be prompted to specify "tags", just enter a list
of tags describing that site and they'll show up as a weighted list of tags when you click "view tags" as shown below.
Can I make a Tizmo open sites in a new window?
Yes you can! Click the Settings link located on the top menu and
check the Open sites in new window setting.
What does the little pencil icon on each Tizmo do?
Clicking the pencil icon on a Tizmo will pull up the edit dialog which allows you to change the title and tags for that website.
How often do website thumbnails update?
We try to keep thumbnails up-to-date but this is difficult due to websites changing
very frequently. We try to keep our screenshots less than 2 days old. Just hover over a website thumbnail to find out when it was last updated.
My page is showing a broken or incorrect thumbnail for a website, how can I fix it?
We try our best to keep everything accurate on Tizmos, but you might occasionally come across an incorrect thumbnail for a specific website. Please click on the "report bad thumbnail" icon on the as shown below and we'll fix it.
Is there a way I can invite friends and family to start using Tizmos.com?
Yes, we encourage everyone to refer friends and family to Tizmos. You can go to
our tell a friend page and import your contacts and
invite them to use the site.
I'm having problems doing something on the site, what can I do to get it fixed?
If you encounter any issues using Tizmos, please contact us and
describe what happened. We'll try to get back to you and fix these problems as soon
as possible!
How can I advertise on Tizmos?
We have different advertising options on Tizmos, your site can be included in our sponsored tizmos section or on a section in the main Tizmos page for a monthly fee,
